Hi! I’m Mica.
I was born in Timișoara, Romania on October 14, 1998. It was a Wednesday. For the first few years of my life my family and I lived in Romania, Turkey, and Germany. We moved back to Timișoara when I started first grade at Liceul Teoretic Ion Vidu. This is where and when I started playing the piano. We moved to Peachtree City, Georgia in the US when I was in the third grade. This is where my elementary school art teacher, Mrs. Joy Kembel, noticed and encouraged my artistic talent. I would spend the next ten years (to the end of my high school studies) attending art classes, piano lessons, jazz dancing, improv classes and musical theatre shows (Suessical, High School Musical, and Jericho and the Multicoloured Coat).
In high school I focused on graphic design which sent me to Monda, Spain to refine my studies. Although I was ecstatic to be back in Europe, my hometown called to me. I moved back to Timișoara, on my own, in 2018. When I applied to the Faculty of Arts and Design at West University of Timisoara, I thought I would be doing a bachelor’s in all of the plastic arts: sculpture, painting and graphics. I was faced with the confrontation that I would have to choose. I felt as though I had not had enough practice in painting (I always reverted to the simple pencil and paper) and decided the whole point of school is to learn. It was difficult at times but worth it. For the next three years I would focus on my painting skills.
The third year of my studies I spent in Barcelona, Spain. Here I spent my time being an au pair, visiting the multitude of museums, and working on my thesis work: I am not my Body. I returned to Romania to present my thesis and apply for a master’s in advertising and book graphics. My master’s thesis work is titled: To be Human.
I spend my time painting, drawing, reading, writing, doing yoga, and spending time outdoors.
