Yesterday we decided, despite the rain, to visit Gibraltar, which is actually 6 sqkm of land in the south of Spain belonging to the UK.
The rain didn’t ruin the mood too much, it created some interesting lighting for some beautiful unfiltered photos and gave me a slight cold. The cold’s the catcher, I’m paying for that today.
The monkeys were pretty cool – they weren’t afraid of humans. Imagine how a cat acts around strangers – it’s the same with the monkeys, they don’t really care about you. But they are cute. The one I took the photo with must have been very young because he was a quarter of the size of the “average” monkey.
“The three great elemental sounds in nature are the sound of rain, the sound of wind in a primeval wood, and the sound of outer ocean on a beach.” – Henry Beston
The Rock of Gibraltar itself was very beautiful.
The coolest part was inside the rock. It’s filled with thousands of kilometers of tunnels and chambers that were used in WWII.
