As I’ve progressively started being more active, to the point where I even committed to a three month gym membership, I start to understand all those people who are fitness addicts. Runner’s high is real. Exercise does feel good.
I actually enjoy a light jog, or an hour full of non stop movement. This isn’t something new. I’ve noticed that if I started getting myself in the habit of being active, I enjoyed it and continued it.
This in’t to say that it’s not a pain in the ass. Take today, it was a heavy crunch day, and afterwards my abdomen was killing me. I had never felt sore muscles in my stomach before and thought I was hungry! Eating didn’t fix it, and that’s when I made the correlation.
But even though I was in pain, I felt great. I was exhausted sure – you’re lying to yourself if you tell me a good workout doesn’t tire you out (you probably didn’t do it right or you are Steve Rogers).
This is something that shows me that everything is work. If we want something we have to work for it. My plan is to become much healthier than I have been. Being active is part of that.
